This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.
• Identify operational workflows that present high friction, evaluate current costs, and craft automated or agent-driven solutions.
• Develop AI agents and intelligent workflows utilizing Azure AI Foundry, Copilot Studio, Microsoft Agent Framework, MCP, and associated frameworks.
• Create multi-step tool usage, orchestration, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Transform prototypes and proofs of concept into secure, scalable, observable, and supportable production services.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs, tool/function endpoints, and backend services utilizing Azure App Services.
• Utilize prompt engineering, grounding, retrieval, Azure AI Search, and evaluation methodologies.
• Establish evaluation and quality infrastructure, encompassing offline evaluation sets, CI regression gates, drift detection, and release criteria.
• Develop observability for AI and agentic systems, focusing on quality, cost, latency, tool-call outcomes, and rollback capabilities.
• Create integrations between internal and external systems, ensuring appropriate human review and intervention points.
• Implement secure authentication and authorization practices using Entra ID.
• Support assessments related to privacy, security, accessibility, responsible AI, and compliance.
• Utilize Azure DevOps for source control, CI/CD, automated testing, release management, and work tracking.
• Collaborate with engineers, program managers, stakeholders, and end users to convert operational processes into technical solutions.
• Engage in code reviews, unit testing, Agile ceremonies, troubleshooting, and debugging activities.
• Assess emerging AI and agent technologies and propose practical applications.
• Document workflow architectures, agent behavior and boundaries, integration contracts, and system designs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Over 3 years of professional software development experience, with emphasis on cloud-based applications.
• Strong expertise in .NET, C#, Python, and SQL for backend development.
• Practical experience with LLMs and AI services, including prompt engineering.
• Proven record of taking at least one AI-powered feature, agent, or automation into production or near-production and discussing the technical implementation in detail.
• Demonstrated capability in automating real-world workflows through process automation, orchestration, integrations, or agentic tooling.
• In-depth knowledge of Azure App Services, Azure SQL, Logic Apps, Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, and Azure AI Search.
• Experience with Azure DevOps for version control, build automation, release management, and project tracking.
• Proficiency in designing secure applications using Entra ID for authentication and authorization.
• Strong understanding of SQL database design, optimization, and querying techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills across code, data, configuration, and AI/model behavior.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Capacity to work directly with end users, gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and iterate based on feedback.
