Software Developer – Core Java 7/8

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Analyze requirements and contribute to the design and estimation of solutions.

• Create maintainable, testable, and efficient Java code.

• Develop unit and integration tests and address pipeline checks prior to merging.

• Investigate defects and production issues, implementing sustainable fixes.

• Utilize platform and base-solution components before developing custom code.

• Maintain technical, deployment, and support documentation.

• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Quality Assurance, architects, and delivery stakeholders.

• Achieve at least 90% of commitments within agreed timelines and standard estimate tolerances.

• Address blocker or critical static-analysis issues and meet rework objectives.

• Fulfill agreed risk-based testing and coverage requirements.

• Deliver measurable quarterly enhancements and repeatable AI-enabled benefits.

⛳️ Requirements

• Typically possess 3 to 5 years of hands-on Java development experience.

• Familiarity with Spring, Hibernate/JPA, SQL, and automated testing.

• Experience with APIs, source control, and CI/CD processes.

• Proficient in Java, relevant application frameworks, SQL/NoSQL, APIs, and integration technologies.

• Knowledge of unit/integration testing, including FitNesse where applicable, and code-quality tools.

• Experience utilizing Git, CI/CD, observability, and diagnostic tools.

• Proficient in using approved AI tools for coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.

• Capable of independent delivery and exercising practical engineering judgment.

• Ability to simplify solutions and prevent over-engineering.

• Strong communication skills and a willingness to challenge ambiguous requirements.

• Awareness of security, resilience, and data integrity principles.

• Effective collaboration with both onshore and offshore teams.

• Experience in SaaS, insurance, and complex integration is preferred.
