Software Architect – Telco Protocols, Data Processing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Define the strategic framework and technical roadmap for protocol decoding, data correlation, and enrichment platforms.

• Establish architectural guidelines, standards, and best practices across associated products.

• Guide technology selection and key design decisions, balancing factors such as scalability, maintainability, performance, and cost.

• Collaborate with product management, engineering, and domain experts to ensure technical direction aligns with business goals.

• Mentor development teams and offer technical leadership on intricate architectural challenges.

• Facilitate alignment of architectural decisions across products, teams, and technology domains to enhance platform consistency and reuse.

• Advance architectural strategies for standardized diagnostic and measurement data derived from mobile core and access network protocols.

• Ensure that decoded measurement data is accurately converted into common data models utilized across products and analytics platforms.

• Maintain backward compatibility, scalability, and long-term maintainability of decoding solutions.

• Define data models, dimensions, and contextual information to convert raw measurements into curated datasets.

• Establish guidelines for data enrichment and correlation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong understanding of mobile telecommunications.

• Strong understanding of 4G and 5G Core network architectures.

• Expertise in signaling and transport protocols including Diameter, GTP, HTTP/2-based SBI interfaces, and related 3GPP standards.

• Experience with IMS, VoLTE, and VoNR ecosystems.

• Understanding of network slicing, CUPS, and cloud-native core architectures.

• Strong software engineering background, particularly with distributed and data-intensive systems.

• Deep understanding of relevant 3GPP standards and their evolution throughout 4G and 5G networks.

• Proficiency in C++.

• Preferred: Experience with large-scale data processing and analytics platforms.

• Preferred: Knowledge of AI/ML data preparation and feature engineering.

• Preferred: Understanding of data lineage, governance, and data quality frameworks.

• Preferred: Familiarity with cloud-native and distributed system architectures.

• Preferred: Knowledge of statistical analysis and performance modeling techniques.
