Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Acquire in-depth knowledge and take ownership of Wagmo’s claims automation pipeline.

• Independently review and implement production changes within the initial months.

• Optimize the cost of processing claims by directing tasks to suitable models while ensuring accuracy.

• Revamp the pipeline to allow for stages to be modified, tested, and deployed independently.

• Create evaluations to validate changes in the pipeline.

• Deliver automation that successfully resolves a higher number of claims without the need for manual review.

• Collaborate with the Product team to identify future automation priorities.

• Leverage AI to analyze veterinary records and enhance coverage decisions for various claim types.

• Manage projects from design through to production implementation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must reside in Latin America.

• Must have a minimum of 6 hours of overlap with US Eastern Time.

• Experience in shipping an LLM-powered feature to production that is relied upon by actual users or involves real monetary transactions.

• Established evaluations prior to rollout, including versioned prompts and models, with contingency plans for rollback.

• Designed or significantly restructured a business-critical system, such as payments or claims, without causing disruptions.

• Proven experience in taking ownership of a complex system originally developed by another individual.

• Skilled in balancing tradeoffs between model cost and quality, with measurable evidence of maintaining high quality.

• Regular use of coding agents and AI review tools.

• Proficient in Python.

• Familiarity with Django and TypeScript is a plus.
