Software Architect, System Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Morocco.

📋 Description

• Take charge of system design, encompassing data modeling, state management, component communication, and system performance under load.

• Make challenging and irreversible design choices early in the process, clearly articulating the associated trade-offs.

• Design and manage the data layer for new features, which includes creating tables, defining relationships, implementing indexing, and optimizing queries and load.

• Develop queues, manage background jobs, and design long-running workflows to ensure reliability during heavy loads and partial failures.

• Contribute to architectural decisions, guide the technology stack direction, and shape the overall product vision.

• Collaborate in an AI-first development environment powered by Claude/Cursor.

• Assist in building Hausverwalter.ai, a comprehensive property management platform featuring Inbox, CRM, Documents, Telephony, Video Calls, Team Chat, and AI-Agents.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong background in systems design.

• Proficient in designing databases from scratch, including tables, relationships, and indexes.

• Ability to assess database load, query performance, and data growth.

• Knowledge of consistency, throughput, failure modes, and potential bottlenecks.

• Experience in designing queues, background jobs, and long-running workflows.

• Capability to make informed judgments on challenging design trade-offs.

• Focus on reliability, scalability, and maintainability as primary concerns.

• Strong English communication skills for team collaboration.

• Ability to work independently and take full ownership of projects.

• Proficiency in German is not required.

• Openness and ability to work in an AI-first environment where AI generates code.
