This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +24 more states.
β’ Design and implement strategic initiatives focused on military and veteran populations to enhance Blue Cross NCβs brand, business goals, member engagement, retention strategies, and community influence.
β’ Enhance healthcare access, behavioral health services, benefits education, and address social determinants of health for active-duty personnel, veterans, and military families.
β’ Work collaboratively with County Engagement teams and cross-departmental business units to execute community-driven strategies that support Healthy Blue, Blue Cross NCβs Medicaid program.
β’ Establish and nurture relationships with military installations, Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs), Military Service Organizations (MSOs), Veteran Service Officers, healthcare providers, community groups, and governmental bodies.
β’ Create educational and outreach programs aimed at improving access to healthcare, behavioral health, chronic disease prevention, food security, and housing stability.
β’ Organize and facilitate military community events, Veteran Stand Downs, benefits education workshops, health screenings, wellness programs, and evidence-based training sessions.
β’ Collaborate with Public Health, Faith-Based, Tribal and Regional Liaisons, and other divisions that engage with the community.
β’ Act as a subject matter expert on the needs of the military and veteran communities, healthcare trends, and obstacles to care.
β’ Lead, mentor, and support County Engagement team members and community collaborators.
β’ Communicate program activities, partnership results, community insights, and measurable outcomes through reporting, presentations, and internal communications.
β’ Oversee military engagement projects, programs, policies, and procedures.
β’ Assess community needs and partnership possibilities to create sustainable initiatives that benefit the military community and align with Blue Cross NCβs mission.
β’ Must be active-duty US military service members only.
β’ Should be within the last 180 days of service at the start of the internship.
β’ Approval from the commanding officer and service branch is required to participate in SkillBridge.
β’ A minimum commitment of 12 weeks is necessary.
β’ Must have a definite end-of-service date that aligns with the internship schedule.
β’ A current resume outlining both military and civilian experience must be submitted.
β’ Documentation of command and service branch approval, if available.
β’ A statement of interest or cover letter detailing career aspirations and objectives for the SkillBridge program is required.
β’ Compliance with Department of War SkillBridge policies, guidelines, and regulations is mandatory.
β’ Must adhere to company policies and standards of professional conduct.
β’ Responsible for personal housing, transportation, and living costs during the internship.
