This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead a team of Safety Professionals across large-scale or complex projects.
• Plan, implement, and manage site safety initiatives effectively.
• Directly apply health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Monitor unsafe behaviors, ensure corrective actions are taken, and escalate serious issues as necessary.
• Interpret and implement advanced safety programs such as the Capacity Model.
• Lead or supervise incident investigations and address compliance issues.
• Coach and mentor safety personnel, site teams, and subcontractors.
• Oversee Drug and Alcohol Testing, Medical Treatment, and Return-to-Work programs.
• Direct audits, review findings, and ensure that corrective actions are properly documented.
• Conduct HSE risk assessments and develop Risk Assessment Matrices.
• Provide guidance on safety processes and communicate site-specific issues to leadership.
• Develop and manage site-specific communications plans.
• Facilitate safety presentations during site, owner, and corporate kickoffs.
• Lead startup activities including Emergency Response planning, signage deployment, and site orientation.
• Direct the execution of Emergency Response Plans.
• Oversee the collection and analysis of safety data.
• Prepare and review complex documents and Serious Event Reports.
• Promote continuous development through training, coaching, feedback, and external accreditation.
• Spend approximately 75% of work time in the field conducting assessments and interacting with crews and subcontractors.
• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety or health, or a comparable combination of training and experience.
• Preferred certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP).
• A minimum of 4 years of progressive construction safety experience.
• Previous leadership experience is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR).
• Willingness to relocate to the community of the project site.
• Preferably knowledgeable in electrical safety, crane safety, and structural safety.
• Strong oral, presentation, and written communication skills.
• Ability to confidently present information to large groups.
• Capability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks while directing team activities.
• Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills; able to coach and motivate professional-level employees.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Visio is preferred.
• Ability to leverage data for improvements in safety performance.
