IT Audit Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee the strategic planning, execution, and reporting of IT audits, including SOC1, SOC2, and financial statement audits, while collaborating with external auditors and internal stakeholders.

• Establish and monitor IT general controls (ITGCs) and SOX compliance frameworks as part of the public company readiness initiative.

• Identify control deficiencies, evaluate risk exposure, and formulate actionable remediation strategies in conjunction with Engineering, Finance, and Legal teams.

• Develop and enhance AI-driven audit workflows to boost efficiency, minimize manual tasks, and scale compliance operations.

• Mentor and nurture team members by setting clear expectations, providing coaching, and promoting accountability and continuous improvement.

• Take ownership of SOC1/SOC2 deliverables and build cross-functional relationships in the initial 1–2 months.

• Guide the full cycle of IT controls testing, pinpoint ITGC framework deficiencies, and advance SOX readiness objectives during months 3–4.

• Present public company readiness progress updates and an AI-driven audit process enhancement roadmap to leadership during months 5–6.

• Successfully complete financial statement, SOC1, and SOC2 external audits with no significant findings.

• Achieve SOX/ITGC readiness milestones within the first 6 months.

• Minimize manual audit efforts through AI and automation initiatives.

• Monitor stakeholder satisfaction and track development milestones for direct reports.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT audit, internal controls, or information security, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.

• Proven expertise in SOC1/SOC2 audits, IT general controls (ITGCs), and SOX compliance frameworks.

• Active CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) certification is mandatory.

• Demonstrated capability to manage multiple simultaneous audit programs in a dynamic, high-growth environment.

• Experience in utilizing automation or AI tools to enhance audit workflows and compliance procedures.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical controls into clear, business-relevant insights for senior stakeholders.

• CPA designation is regarded as a significant advantage.
