Site Reliability Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Provide expert cloud operations for Akamai's security offerings, including the Zero Trust Security platform.

• Guarantee the reliability, availability, and performance of essential systems and services.

• Design, implement, and maintain automation tools and processes for operational tasks, system provisioning, and configuration management.

• Establish and sustain monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve potential issues.

• Collaborate with the security team to safeguard systems and data.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements, implement best practices, and promote the adoption of new technologies.

• Detect and optimize performance bottlenecks in systems, applications, and infrastructure components.

• Ensure high availability of infrastructure.

• Facilitate continuous integration and continuous delivery of the platform.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or in a comparable position.

• Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices is preferred.

• Proficient in programming and scripting languages, such as Python, Go, and Shell.

• Experience with cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, and GCP.

• Familiarity with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.

• Comprehensive knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and networking concepts.

• Understanding of DNS/HTTP/TCP/IP network protocols.

• Proficiency with configuration management tools, such as Ansible, Puppet, and Chef.

• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools, including Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack.

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment.

• Strong problem-solving abilities.
