Site Reliability Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design and develop systems that facilitate automated operational workflows and deliver insights into global network data.

• Identify and resolve bottlenecks arising from process inefficiencies, manual tasks, and technical debt.

• Produce telemetry data and ensure deep observability for network infrastructure.

• Create code that is self-sustaining, resilient, and easy to maintain.

• Emphasize CI/CD, test-driven development, and iterative design methodologies.

• Assist in the deployment of cloud-native, third-party software utilizing an infrastructure-as-code approach.

• Continuously enhance Akamai's capabilities to monitor and manage its global backbone.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Proficient programming skills in Python and/or JavaScript.

• Capability to design and construct scalable full-stack systems employing suitable frameworks and SDLC best practices.

• Familiarity with containers, Kubernetes, service orchestration, microservices, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and contemporary DevOps practices.

• Experience with PostgreSQL and Apache Cassandra.

• Knowledge of network telemetry, monitoring/metrics, dashboarding, and alerting.

• Proven experience in developing automation to enhance operational efficiency.
