Site Reliability Engineer – Application Development, Kubernetes, Linux

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Deploy, oversee, and maintain applications on Linux bare metal servers and OpenShift/Kubernetes clusters.

• Implement CI/CD pipelines to guarantee dependable and repeatable releases across hybrid environments.

• Develop and uphold application observability utilizing Prometheus, Grafana, and Zabbix.

• Establish and manage centralized logging with Grafana Loki, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, and Fluentd/Fluent Bit.

• Create automation scripts in Bash, Python, and JavaScript to enhance deployment processes and minimize operational toil.

• Engage in incident response and resolve application or platform issues in live production settings.

• Provide support for night-time deployments and participate in on-call rotations.

• Address emergencies, including those occurring on weekends and holidays.

• Collaborate with internal teams to enhance deployment reliability and efficiency.

• Acquire new technologies, take guidance, and develop skills as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in Linux system administration.

• Minimum of 5 years working with Kubernetes (K8s).

• Familiarity with Red Hat OpenShift.

• Experience with application servers such as JBoss or WebLogic.

• Proficiency in Zabbix, Prometheus, and Grafana.

• Experience with Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana (ELK).

• Exposure to Apache and Nginx web servers.

• Proficient in Ansible.

• Basic understanding of networking concepts.

• Fundamental SQL skills.

• Strong problem-solving abilities.

• Capability to function effectively in a live production environment.

• Willingness to carry a pager for on-call responsibilities.

• Openness to support night-time deployments and work off-hours, including weekends and holidays during emergencies.

• Eagerness to learn quickly and develop new competencies.
