Service Transition Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Lead the transition of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems from commissioning to Long-term Operations and Maintenance under LTSA contracts.

• Develop and manage Service Transition Plans, which include action trackers, checklists, acceptance criteria, and milestones.

• Collaborate with Project Managers, Commissioning Engineers, customers, and internal stakeholders to address punch list items.

• Oversee warranty scope, contractual obligations, handoffs, and service-level activation timelines.

• Create O&M project kick-off reports and gather commercial and technical documentation.

• Supervise the structured handover of technical documentation from Service Engineering and Project Execution teams.

• Monitor phase-gate reviews and ensure alignment with procedures and Project Execution plans.

• Ensure readiness of onsite service infrastructure, spare parts, equipment, tools, remote access, digital tools, and EHS standards.

• Assist in the onboarding and training of service technicians and facilitate system access.

• Formulate resource plans for field engineering support during initial-stage issues.

• Aid in the setup of monitoring systems and KPI-baselining tools.

• Identify maintenance equipment, tools, and fixtures based on site-specific conditions.

• Collaborate on manpower assessments and create semiannual and annual preventive-maintenance master schedules.

• Provide digital-tool system onboarding plans in coordination with Commercial Managers and EMS/Cloud teams.

• Align performance metrics, warranty responsibilities, contractual obligations, and operational risk registers.

• Facilitate post-transition reviews, collect field feedback, and propose design-for-serviceability improvements.

• Report to the Senior Service Project Manager as a member of the Global Service Team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in project management within the renewable energy sector.

• Comprehensive knowledge of the Operation and Maintenance of Battery Energy Storage Systems.

• Strong personnel management abilities.

• Capability to effectively interface with customers and team members in a cross-functional setting.

• Familiarity with structured problem-solving techniques or a Lean background.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficient in Office tools: Excel, PowerPoint, Word.

• B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Power/Energy Engineering or equivalent technical experience.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in renewable energy or utility-scale power systems, preferably in BESS.

• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.

• Preferred certifications include PMP, OSHA 30, NFPA 72E.

• Desired engineering experience with energy storage and power conversion systems.

• Knowledge or understanding of generation, transmission, and distribution within electric grid systems.

• Understanding of computer networks.
