This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.
• Assist in the inspection, servicing, maintenance, repair, and upgrading of marine elevator systems on seagoing vessels and offshore facilities.
• Conduct annual, periodic, and technical evaluations of marine elevators.
• Perform planned, preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance tasks.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and rectify mechanical, electrical, control, and PLC-related issues.
• Carry out repairs, adjustments, parts replacements, modernization tasks, and significant repairs on elevator systems.
• Undertake demanding field tasks such as replacing traveling cables, renewing wire ropes, conducting suspension repairs, and carrying out necessary testing and inspections.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, technical drawings, schematics, manuals, and service documentation effectively.
• Keep precise and detailed service reports, inspection results, parts usage logs, risk observations, and notes on customer communications.
• Collaborate closely with Technical, Operations, Project Management, service partners, and vessel crew to facilitate efficient job planning and execution.
• Diploma or degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Mechanical fields.
• A professional or vocational qualification in elevator engineering is considered an asset.
• At least 10 years of experience in the elevator industry encompassing service, troubleshooting, repairs, and inspections.
• Strong command of English, both written and spoken; proficiency in additional regional languages is a plus.
• Capability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Willingness to travel frequently for both domestic and international vessel assignments.
• Flexibility to work outside standard hours according to vessel schedules and port operations.
• Must be medically fit for vessel attendance, offshore duties, and physically demanding tasks.
• Able to work at heights, in confined machinery spaces, and in challenging onboard and port environments.
• Possess a valid passport and be able to travel with short notice.
• High proficiency in Google Workspace and modern productivity applications.
• Valid Light Motor Vehicle driving license required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the EU (EU/EEA/Swiss nationals or possess a valid work/residence permit).
