This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Perform medium to high-complexity service tasks in accordance with work instructions and ABB standards.
• Provide outstanding customer service while identifying areas within the installed base for enhancing system and operational efficiency.
• Carry out work in alignment with ABB Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, the ABB Way, Safety Manual, and Safety Policy.
• Manage projects that include the startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, engineering, design, and repair of Power Delivery equipment and controls.
• Oversee outages in collaboration with field engineers, technicians, contractors, project managers, and site engineers.
• Strategically plan, organize, and execute multifaceted field assignments.
• Supervise the work of field engineers and craft labor as needed.
• Enhance and broaden technical knowledge and proficiency.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver training programs for both internal and external audiences.
• Compose technical reports, procure materials, obtain quotations, prepare job status and customer reports, complete timesheets and expense reports, and engage in cost control activities.
• High School Diploma or GED with over 5 years of relevant field engineering experience.
• Technical proficiency in testing power distribution and delivery systems, including Low Voltage and Medium Voltage Breakers, Switchgear, Relays, and Transformers.
• Experience in the repair and refurbishment of LV and MV circuit breakers, including those from Siemens, GE, ABB, SquareD, as well as Multilin and Schweitzer Relays.
• Familiarity with testing, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting of medium voltage synchronous machines, including excitation systems, control systems, and Programmable Logic Controllers is a plus.
• Willingness to travel domestically up to 75% of the time.
• Understanding of the industrial customer landscape in the geographical area.
• Candidates must possess work authorization that allows them to be employed by ABB in the US; employment visa sponsorship is not available.
