Senior/Staff PCB Layout Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the layout for Skydio’s intricate PCBAs designed for next-generation products, which includes defining outlines, designing stack-ups, high-density placements, precision routing, and transitioning designs to manufacturing.

• Develop and uphold design standards, libraries, and workflows across various product iterations.

• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, RF, and manufacturing engineers to address trade-offs and produce robust, manufacturable designs.

• Work closely with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors to ensure impedance control, compliance with DFM/DFT standards, and reliable production yields.

• Lead ongoing enhancements in tool flows, library management, and design review processes, including identifying automation opportunities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience in PCB layout for high-speed, high-density, and mixed-signal systems (5+ years preferred).

• Proficient in Cadence Allegro/OrCAD (17.2/25.1), with a successful history of designing and delivering complex boards.

• Strong understanding of component placement, signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC, and impedance control principles, with practical experience in layouts.

• Skilled in rigid, flex, and rigid-flex PCB design for high-performance embedded systems.

• Experience working collaboratively with EE, ME, RF, and manufacturing teams.

• Familiarity with scripting/automation in PCB tools, PLM systems, or experience in robotics/drones is a plus.

• Obtaining FAA Part 107 certification within the first 60 days of employment is highly encouraged for all Skydio employees and mandatory for specific roles.
