Senior/Principal Automation Engineer – Secret Clearance Required

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and manage scalable, maintainable test automation frameworks for web, Android, and Windows applications.

• Collaborate with software teams to enhance and develop the organization’s complete end-to-end testing framework.

• Define and advocate for an agentic AI approach to quality, encompassing patterns, guardrails, and best practices.

• Deliver AI-assisted test design, automated test generation, and code review solutions.

• Assess team requirements and provide solutions utilizing existing tools or new agentic AI capabilities.

• Develop prototypes and reference implementations for new frameworks and workflows.

• Convert program and product specifications into automation designs and actionable quality strategies.

• Work alongside development and platform engineering teams to integrate automation, coverage, and quality from the outset.

• Contribute to quality standards, metrics, and guidelines for AI utilization.

• Offer technical support and guidance across Agile teams and programs.

• Monitor emerging tools and industry trends to implement practical quality engineering enhancements.

• Articulate technical designs, system processes, and decisions across teams.

• Report to the Quality Engineering Manager as an individual contributor.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active Secret security clearance is mandatory; Interim clearance is accepted under contract stipulations.

• U.S. Citizenship is required.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in QA or Test Engineering, with hands-on ownership of test system design.

• 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience using agentic AI coding tools such as Claude Code or similar.

• Significant practical contribution to the creation or substantial rearchitecting of a test automation framework.

• Hands-on experience in unit, integration, API, end-to-end, linting, and static analysis testing.

• Experience in automating tests across multiple platforms: web, mobile, and/or desktop.

• Strong programming skills in Java and/or TypeScript/JavaScript.

• A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field is required by contract.

• Practical experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines; GitLab CI is preferred.

• A solid understanding of software design patterns and fundamental architectural principles.

• Proven ability to influence technical direction and promote adoption across engineering teams.

• Familiarity with Jira, Jama, Rally, or similar requirements and issue management tools.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with effective cross-team collaboration abilities.

• Capability to excel in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

• Successful completion of pre-employment background checks and drug screening is required as a condition of hire.
