This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Develop and spearhead field-based medical engagement for the Portal program within EPP and XLP.
β’ Report directly to the CMO while managing direct reports.
β’ Lead and execute field-based medical and scientific interactions with designated healthcare professionals (HCPs).
β’ Provide precise, balanced, and compliant scientific communication regarding EPP/XLP disease states and program data.
β’ Establish priorities, mentor team members, and oversee daily field operations.
β’ Collaborate with leadership on Medical Affairs field initiatives and priorities.
β’ Implement the agreed-upon Medical Affairs field strategy and offer field insights for its enhancement.
β’ Assist in the cross-functional development of field/MSL presentations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and congress materials.
β’ Facilitate field engagement and logistics during medical congresses.
β’ Interact with designated HCPs on-site and coordinate the presence of the field team.
β’ Monitor and report field metrics and activities.
β’ Cultivate and sustain scientific and clinical knowledge in EPP/XLP, porphyrias, heme biosynthesis, and rare diseases.
β’ An advanced clinical or scientific degree is required: PharmD, PhD, or MD.
β’ Proven experience as a Medical Science Liaison or in field medical roles is essential.
β’ A demonstrated history of engaging with field-based healthcare professionals is required.
β’ Experience in rare diseases and/or EPP/XLP/porphyria is highly preferred.
β’ Experience in people management or team leadership is necessary.
β’ Capability to manage and nurture direct reports.
β’ Proficiency in translating strategy into field execution.
β’ Ability to align cross-functionally with business stakeholders.
β’ Strong understanding of clinical trial design and the interpretation of scientific data.
β’ Exceptional scientific communication skills.
β’ Familiarity with Medical Affairs compliance standards, including field versus KOL/site engagement and non-promotional guidelines.
β’ Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized.
β’ Ability to work independently in the field with considerable travel required.
β’ Significant field travel of approximately 60β70% is expected.
