This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Fulfill contractual obligations and perform daily activities required by customers related to electrical and mechanical wind turbine equipment.
• Utilize expertise in variable-pitch and variable-speed turbines along with converter components.
• Interpret, comprehend, and articulate schematics, drawings, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations.
• Adhere to Environmental Health and Safety processes, regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Diagnose intricate mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in variable-pitch and variable-speed turbines.
• Provide support across all aspects of site operations with minimal oversight while ensuring safety protocols are followed.
• Conduct diagnostic analyses and formulate plans for prompt resolutions.
• Record work using computer-based service reporting systems.
• Collaborate with GE's remote operations center when required.
• Coordinate and communicate with the Site Lead and Manager to fulfill contract requirements and deadlines.
• Guide and mentor colleagues.
• Carry out daily turbine operations, safety checks, quality control, and warranty repairs.
• Travel locally within the hub.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Capability to successfully complete a Technical Knowledge Assessment.
• Possess either 4+ years of wind troubleshooting experience along with 1+ year in an EHS, SQC, or Lead role, or 5+ years of wind troubleshooting experience.
• Basic computer proficiency is necessary.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% of the time.
• Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs. and ascend towers up to 300 feet daily.
• Must adhere to manufacturer weight limits, not exceeding 300 lbs. including necessary gear.
• Capability and willingness to operate in industrial, manufacturing, and power industry environments.
• Ability to prioritize tasks based on contract obligations.
• Capacity to work independently and take initiative.
• Flexibility to accommodate rotating shifts and on-call schedules.
• Willingness to work occasional overnight shifts.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable.
• Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a Technical, Electrical, or Electronics field.
• Preferred: Technical Certification in Wind Energy or Electrical/Electronic field.
• Experience with wind turbines.
• Background in electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency in using hydraulic power tools.
• Experience with heavy equipment for facility maintenance and familiarity with crane and rigging requirements.
