Senior Water Resources Consultant – Mining Focus

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Act as the lead for mine water practice

• Offer project and task management along with technical support to mining clients and those in heavy industry and power generation

• Direct technical analyses concerning water balance modeling

• Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analyses as well as engineering studies

• Collaborate with, coordinate, and potentially oversee multidisciplinary project teams

• Guide junior staff through various project activities

• Provide clients with advice on mine water management strategies through alternatives analysis

• Engage in business development efforts, which include delivering conference presentations and crafting proposals

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in mathematics, science, engineering, or a related field

• Over 10 years of relevant experience

• Proficient in developing water balance models, utilizing both spreadsheet-based and advanced simulation tools

• Experience in designing surface water impoundments such as process ponds, water supply dams, and reservoirs

• Conduct statistical analysis of hydrological data, including cumulative frequency analysis

• Background in advising clients on mine water management strategies and conducting alternatives analysis

• Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships

• Competencies in probabilistic analysis or modeling, uncertainty analysis, and/or Monte Carlo analysis

• Familiarity with hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality methods and modeling tools

• Possession of a current, valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record

• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship

• Capability to operate in rough terrain, around moving machinery, and within industrial facilities, with or without reasonable accommodations
