📋 Description

• Identify, solicit, and underwrite new Contract Surety accounts that promote profitable growth.

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with key partners in the agency network.

• Oversee agency, broker, and account meetings, along with general workflow management.

• Implement Hanover’s Surety strategies and appetite, utilizing both internal and external data to make informed individual and portfolio risk decisions.

• Collaborate with internal and external resources on moderately complex risks.

• Manage an existing portfolio and assigned book of business characterized by moderate to high technical complexity and scope.

• Partner with key agencies to explore and develop new business opportunities.

• Contribute to the goals of the region and business unit.

• Function in both underwriting and marketing roles with minimal supervision.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience.

• AFSB Designation is preferred.

• Typically, 5-10 years of experience in Contract Surety underwriting.

• Over 5 years of experience in fostering agency relationships that result in profitable new business and managing complex accounts.

• Strong understanding of fundamental underwriting concepts, practices, and procedures.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey difficult or technical decisions with confidence and clarity.

• Capability to swiftly adapt to change, as well as the ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems.

• Openness to new and diverse ways of thinking.

• Must reside in Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, or Georgia.

• Willingness to travel regularly for business throughout the designated territory.
