Senior Trial Attorney – Workers Compensation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Manage all aspects of Workers' Compensation litigation from the initial assessment to resolution.

• Collaborate with claims professionals to formulate case strategies.

• Conduct discovery processes.

• Negotiate settlement agreements.

• Represent clients at hearings.

• Advocate for clients throughout the litigation process.

• Provide mentorship to colleagues and act as a technical resource on intricate issues.

• Independently oversee complex litigation cases.

• Offer technical guidance to fellow attorneys.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree.

• A minimum of 7 years of litigation experience.

• Must be a member in good standing of the California State Bar.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe applications.

• Familiarity with Lexis, Westlaw, or other legal research tools.

• Solid understanding of the insurance industry, claims environment, insurance defense litigation, and legal procedures.

• Proven capability to independently manage complex litigation matters and offer technical guidance to others as needed.

• Experience in Workers' Compensation defense.

• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage a caseload autonomously.

• Experience in a collaborative team setting.

• Background in trials, hearings, mediations, and settlements.

• Experience managing moderate to high-complexity matters, mentoring attorneys, and serving as a subject matter expert.
