This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Act as a representative for insured clients and Allstate in defending against bodily injury and property damage lawsuits, subrogation disputes, PIP/no-fault issues, and uninsured/underinsured motorist claims.

• Manage litigation independently from the initiation of the case through to its resolution.

• Assess cases, review documentary evidence, formulate litigation strategies, and oversee the discovery process.

• Prepare for and conduct various legal proceedings, including hearings, depositions, examinations under oath, arbitrations, mediations, settlement conferences, and trials.

• Draft and argue substantive motions, complex pleadings, trial documents, and motions in limine.

• Prepare clients, witnesses, and expert witnesses for their testimony.

• Investigate and pursue subrogation opportunities along with recovery efforts.

• Offer legal advice and strategic litigation insights to claims business partners and internal stakeholders.

• Communicate updates on cases, litigation strategies, exposure assessments, settlement suggestions, and trial preparations.

• Stay updated on laws, regulations, and case law; identify trends and provide guidance to business partners.

• Travel to courts and other locations across Massachusetts as required.


⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctorate degree.

• Active membership with the Massachusetts State Bar in good standing.

• Over 4 years of litigation experience in insurance defense, bodily injury, personal injury, PIP/no-fault litigation, subrogation, or similar civil litigation.

• Preference for candidates with first or second chair jury trial experience.

• Experience in conducting depositions, mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and settlement negotiations.

• Ability to independently manage an active caseload through to resolution.

• Strong skills in legal research, writing, analysis, and advocacy.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, legal research platforms, and internet-based legal research tools.

• Capability to collaborate effectively with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff.

• Ability to work efficiently in a remote/hybrid setting and travel within Massachusetts.

• Successful completion of a background check.

• Reliable internet connection with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload.

• A dedicated, private workspace at home with suitable desk and seating arrangements.

• Generally, no sponsorship for employment-based visas will be provided.
