This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Translate texts in medical, pharmaceutical, administrative, commercial, advertising, and media fields from English into French.
• Maintain the content, meaning, and intent of the original texts.
• Handle highly scientific and prominent documents related to AbbVie products and activities.
• Review translations produced internally and those provided externally to ensure consistent terminology and phrasing.
• Assist in planning, prioritizing, and managing translation and revision requests.
• Offer expert guidance to internal clients and colleagues.
• Collaborate with clients and colleagues when translating in specialized areas.
• Work together to create and update glossaries, lexicons, and style guides.
• Engage in the management of computer-assisted translation tools and keep abreast of innovations.
• Coordinate with translation service providers and strategic internal clients.
• Initiate programs promoting the use of French throughout the company, especially during Francofête.
• Participate in activities related to AbbVie’s francization obligations.
• Draft and manage documents that support Linguistic Services operations.
• Represent AbbVie Canada’s interests at a global level within AbbVie.
• Aid in optimizing resource utilization and tackling business challenges.
• Foster change and innovation alongside strategic company functions.
• Bachelor’s degree (BA) in English-to-French translation or an equivalent qualification.
• Relevant experience paired with a solid understanding of the health or life sciences sector.
• At least ten years of experience in English-to-French translation.
• A minimum of five years of experience in comparative English-to-French revision.
• Experience in translating, updating, and revising product monographs for pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
• Professional certification (OTTIAQ, ATIO, or equivalent) is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to language quality.
• Ability to think strategically and execute plans with excellence.
• Capacity to build robust partnerships with key stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects at once.
• Capability to work independently, deliver high-quality documents, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent knowledge of industry-specific terminology and phraseology.
• Strong sense of responsibility, adaptability, and curiosity.
• Proficiency with technology and various tools/systems.
• Knowledge of LogiTerm is an asset.
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Advanced proficiency in French.
• Very good understanding and fluency in English.
• Strong writing ability and impeccable style.
• Ability to interact with individuals at all levels, both internal and external.
• Experience working in a multinational company.

• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively.
• Strategic understanding in both verbal and written communication.
• Strong analytical skills for problem-solving and independent thinking.

• Must be capable of working in a French/English business environment with employees and clients outside Quebec.
