This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Conduct investigations, negotiations, evaluations, and assessments of vehicle damage claims for both repairable and total loss vehicles.
• Assess and evaluate highly intricate auto physical damage claims utilizing digital tools.
• Examine claim damages and liaise with insured individuals, internal claims adjusters, and third-party vendors.
• Analyze loss facts and vehicle damage to pinpoint subrogation opportunities.
• Keep supporting physical damage documentation organized within claim files.
• Utilize expertise in P&C insurance products, services, contracts, processes, and regulations.
• Scrutinize claims and suppliers for signs of fraud and escalate cases to the Special Investigations Unit as necessary.
• Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation within claim files.
• Manage desk workloads, provide timely follow-ups, and outline repair plans and timelines.
• Assess additional damage from repair facilities and complete supplements or conduct triage inspections for field providers.
• Act as a subject matter expert for contested claims or trials, supporting team members with escalated matters.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal business partners to resolve complex claims.
• Coordinate with external regulators as required to ensure proper documentation and compliance.
• Provide policyholders with information regarding coverage, repair estimates or total loss valuations, as well as the claims/repair process.
• Assist during workload surges and catastrophe response operations, which may include mandatory on-call days and potential evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
• Travel on CAT deployments with little notice when assigned.
• Handle various claim types and additional responsibilities as required.
• Identify, assess, monitor, and manage business risks in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in auto appraising.
• Proficient understanding of P&C insurance policy contracts and coverages, the auto parts distribution process, and claim appraisal procedures.
• Advanced knowledge of estimating losses using CCC or similar estimating platforms.
• Proven written and verbal communication skills to engage with members, claimants, repair facilities, and other internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an insurance adjuster license within 90 days and 3 attempts.
• I-CAR ProLevel 3 (Platinum) certification or actively pursuing ProLevel 3 status.
• Experience as a Field Auto Appraiser with a Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance provider.
• Proficient in preparing estimates and evaluations using the CCC estimating platform.
• Competent in balancing the creation of accurate collision repair estimates in both Virtual and Field settings.
• Willingness to deploy on CAT assignments as necessary.
• Readiness to work in California.
• Must not require immigration support or visa sponsorship now or in the future.
