This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Conduct investigations, negotiate, assess, and appraise vehicle damage claims for both repairable and total loss vehicles.
• Analyze complex auto physical damage claims utilizing digital tools, contract terms, corporate guidelines, and state regulations.
• Examine claim damages through discussions with insured individuals, internal claims adjusters, and third parties or vendors.
• Assess facts of loss and vehicle damage to pinpoint subrogation opportunities while maintaining appropriate documentation.
• Scrutinize claims and suppliers for indicators of fraud and refer relevant cases to the Special Investigations Unit.
• Keep precise and up-to-date documentation of claim files.
• Manage workloads, ensure timely follow-ups, and outline repair plans and timelines to facilitate accurate claims adjudication.
• Review additional damages reported by repair facilities and complete supplements or conduct triage inspections for field providers.
• Act as a subject matter expert for disputed claims or trial proceedings.
• Assist team members with escalated routine issues.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal business partners to resolve high-complexity claims.
• Coordinate with external regulators as necessary to ensure compliance and proper documentation.
• Provide policyholders with information regarding coverage, repair estimates or total loss valuations, and the claims/repair process.
• Support workload surges and catastrophe response operations, which may include on-call dates and potential evening, weekend, or holiday work.
• Participate in CAT deployment travel with minimal notice when required.
• Identify, evaluate, monitor, and manage risks in accordance with risk and compliance policies.
• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in auto appraising.
• Proficient understanding of property and casualty insurance policy contracts and coverages.
• Familiarity with auto parts distribution processes.
• Knowledge of claim appraisal processes and methodologies.
• Advanced working proficiency with CCC or similar estimating platforms.
• Proven written and verbal communication skills with members, claimants, repair facilities, and both internal and external stakeholders.
• Must acquire and maintain an insurance adjuster license within 90 days and 3 attempts.

• I-CAR certification is considered a differentiator.
