Senior Technical Services Consultant – Workday

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of intricate Workday integrations, emphasizing Workday Financial Management.

• Act as the technical lead for integration workstreams, taking ownership of solution design, technical architecture, delivery quality, and critical client decisions.

• Collaborate with Financials functional consultants, project leaders, and client stakeholders to convert business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

• Design and create integrations using Workday Studio, Enterprise Interface Builder, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, RaaS, Workday Web Services, APIs, and various other integration tools.

• Provide support for integrations across Workday Financials domains, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Banking and Settlement, Expenses, Procurement, Suppliers, Customers, Projects, and Assets.

• Oversee integrations between Workday and banks, payment providers, procurement platforms, expense systems, tax applications, payroll providers, data warehouses, and other third-party enterprise systems.

• Utilize XML, XSLT, REST, SOAP, APIs, SFTP, JSON, and associated integration standards.

• Offer guidance on integration architecture, design patterns, error handling, security, performance, scalability, and Workday best practices.

• Evaluate team members’ technical designs and development for quality, consistency, and maintainability.

• Diagnose complex integration and production issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and propose long-term solutions.

• Lead or assist in integration discovery and design sessions with client technical and functional stakeholders.

• Create technical specifications, integration design documentation, test strategies, deployment plans, and other project deliverables.

• Engage throughout the discovery, design, configuration, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support phases.

• Collaborate with functional, reporting, security, data, and technical teams to ensure integrations align with the broader Workday solution.

• Identify project risks, dependencies, and technical considerations, and communicate them proactively to project leadership and clients.

• Mentor junior consultants and contribute to the ongoing growth of The Groove’s Workday practice.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience in designing and developing Workday integrations in implementation, optimization, and/or post-production environments.

• In-depth knowledge of Workday Financial Management and the business processes and data structures that underpin Financials.

• Advanced proficiency with Workday Studio, EIBs, Core Connectors, RaaS, Workday Web Services, and APIs.

• Strong understanding of XML, XSLT, REST, SOAP, and related integration technologies.

• Experience in designing complex integrations between Workday and external financial and enterprise applications.

• Solid grasp of Workday business objects, reporting, calculated fields, security, and web services as they pertain to integration development.

• Capability to independently design technical solutions and provide recommendations to clients and project leadership.

• Experience leading integration workstreams or acting as the primary technical resource on Workday projects.

• Exceptional client-facing communication skills, with the ability to clarify complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work efficiently across functional and technical teams.

• Current or prior Workday Integration certification (preferred).

• Workday Financial Management certification or considerable hands-on Financials implementation experience (preferred).

• Familiarity with Workday Extend, Orchestrate, Prism Analytics, Accounting Center, or other emerging Workday technologies (preferred).

• Experience with banking integrations, payment files, ACH, positive pay, procurement platforms, tax applications, expense platforms, or other financial-system integrations (preferred).

• Proven experience leading technical design sessions and presenting solution recommendations to client leadership (preferred).

• Previous Workday consulting experience within a professional services environment (preferred).
