Senior Technical Application Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Dakota, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee daily operations to enhance sales, secure orders, and deliver exceptional customer service centered on Siemens Medium Voltage solutions.

• Offer proactive product and system application assistance to customers, branches, and sales engineers.

• Assess new products and provide recommendations regarding stock levels.

• Deliver field troubleshooting support and assist with customer field projects.

• Participate in customer training and conduct evaluations of product applications.

• Act as the Center of Excellence in the designated focus area.

• Formulate internal and external training strategies.

• Mentor new employees and assist colleagues in mastering their roles.

• Aid in the promotion and sales of Border States technical products, services, agencies, and distribution lines.

• Expand the Siemens MV solutions portfolio by generating demand, influencing product specifications, and strategically positioning Siemens MV solutions.

• Engage in complex discussions with consultants, customers, and team members concerning product specifications.

• Follow up on quotations, technical inquiries, and customer requests.

• Maintain ongoing communication with customers' engineering teams and consultants.

• Establish technical relationships with utilities, engineering procurement and construction firms, and stakeholders in the utility market.

• Keep a thorough understanding of assigned product areas along with Siemens MV products and applications.

• Address complex product technology challenges.

• Document TCCM cost savings.

• Lead training sessions on both new and existing technical product lines and applications.

• Conduct product demonstrations and application-focused presentations.

• Perform product application assessments, encompassing TCCM savings, material consolidation, alternative solutions, and relevant standards.

• Execute product updates and facilitate new product launches for branches and customers.

• Attend and support trade shows and training initiatives.

• Ensure functionality of product demonstrations.

• Provide insights to pricing and purchasing teams regarding product evaluations, code descriptions, inventory, and pricing.

• Utilize relevant SAP processes to aid in order entry and management.

• Travel frequently as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field, or equivalent experience is mandatory.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience with the technical and business aspects of the designated focus area is required.

• 5 years of experience with Siemens MV solutions portfolio is preferred.

• Experience with electric utilities, engineering procurement and construction firms, or power distribution systems is preferred.

• Knowledge and understanding of electrical utility distribution and transmission systems is preferred.

• Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, and PowerPoint), internet, email, and SAP software is preferred.

• Exceptional customer service skills are essential.

• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are preferred.

• Ability to effectively plan, organize, and deliver presentations.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.

• Capacity to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
