Senior Systems Engineer, Network-Focused

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pakistan, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Address intricate service and infrastructure challenges within client environments.

• Take ownership of issues from initial root cause analysis to final resolution.

• Deliver technical support encompassing servers, cloud services, identity management, endpoints, networking, and core MSP platforms.

• Act as the main escalation contact for sophisticated networking and firewall problems.

• Identify and resolve issues related to Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, Exchange, server infrastructure, virtualization, endpoint management, and MSP tools.

• Set up and troubleshoot firewalls, VLANs, routing, switching, VPNs, NAT, and site-to-site connections.

• Design, configure, and troubleshoot on-premises, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure.

• Tackle complex tickets directly to minimize reassignment and recurring escalations.

• Recognize systemic issues and implement lasting solutions.

• Create clear documentation and resolution notes to enhance L1/L2 troubleshooting capabilities.

• Collaborate with L1/L2 engineers, service leadership, and project teams to refine standards, workflows, and service efficiency.

• Mentor and provide technical direction to fellow engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive MSP support experience at a senior level, with the capacity to independently resolve complex tickets across various technology domains.

• Demonstrated experience as an L3 or senior escalation engineer in a managed services setting.

• Strong hands-on expertise in supporting Microsoft 365 and Azure, including identity, access, and core services.

• Experience with Active Directory, Exchange, and troubleshooting identity-related issues.

• Familiarity with Windows Server and standard server roles.

• Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, or similar technologies.

• Proficiency in endpoint management and commonly used MSP tools, including RMM, PSA, backup, and security solutions.

• Capacity to manage tickets end-to-end, conduct root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.

• Practical networking experience involving firewall configuration and troubleshooting, VLANs, routing, switching, VPNs, and subnetting.

• Excellent documentation and communication abilities, including the capacity to articulate technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Preferred: In-depth networking and firewall knowledge, experience with Fortinet/SonicWall/Meraki, complex network design or remediation, hybrid cloud, mentoring, automation/scripting, process enhancement, and distributed service teams.
