Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Design and manage resilient, scalable, and secure network solutions for a sovereign cloud infrastructure catering to the public sector.

• Guarantee a robust, highly available network architecture with exceptional monitoring capabilities.

• Create system architectures and automate operational workflows.

• Take charge of the design, implementation, and management of highly secure network infrastructures, including isolated air-gapped systems.

• Strategically plan customized network configurations in close collaboration with clients and utilizing customer-owned hardware stacks.

• Set up and fine-tune complex routing configurations employing BGP, MPLS, and IPv6 within multi-tenant environments.

• Develop and sustain automation processes with Ansible and Python for updates, scaling, and hardware integrations in live production settings.

• Conduct root-cause analysis and troubleshooting activities.

• Continuously enhance monitoring systems to ensure high availability.

• Collaborate with a cross-functional team to secure the stability and reliability of critical infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of experience in network engineering, preferably within an ISP environment or large data centers.

• Strong expertise in data center networking, especially with Cumulus Linux and Juniper Junos.

• Comprehensive understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS, IPv6, and VXLAN/EVPN.

• Proficient in using the Linux command line.

• Experience in scripting and automation with Bash and Python.

• Practical knowledge of Ansible or Terraform is an advantage.

• Structured and organized approach to tasks.

• Ability to create and maintain clear documentation.

• Excellent proficiency in both German and English languages.
