Senior Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as the lead engineer for WRA’s cloud and SaaS platforms.

• Implement new tools and aid in the migration of tools from the MSP.

• Engineer Azure Virtual Desktop, Microsoft 365/Entra ID, endpoint management, and automation solutions.

• Manage Azure Virtual Desktop and virtual servers, which includes image management, patching, scaling, backups, performance optimization, and software versioning.

• Set up monitoring and alerts for virtual machine performance and utilization.

• Conduct root-cause analysis and recommend infrastructure solutions.

• Oversee Microsoft 365 administration, encompassing Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and data governance.

• Co-manage backups for SaaS and cloud infrastructure.

• Administer Entra ID and SSO, which includes conditional access, authentication, dynamic groups, and governance of guest access.

• Manage identity lifecycle automation for onboarding, offboarding, and role changes.

• Ensure SCIM provisioning across various SaaS applications.

• Oversee Windows, Mac, and mobile device fleets via endpoint management platforms.

• Automate IT processes utilizing PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and other platforms.

• Enhance the implementation of Claude AI, including Connector configurations, Skills, and Design.

• Build and manage cybersecurity operations and security tools.

• Engage in incident response, investigations, root-cause analysis, and technical containment.

• Fortify infrastructure to meet CMMC and NIST SP 800-171 compliance standards.

• Act as the final escalation point for complex IT support requests.

• Participate in a unique on-call rotation for critical outages.

• Maintain runbooks, architecture diagrams, and system configuration documentation.

• Adhere to industry-standard change management protocols.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of direct experience as an engineer supporting a hybrid or remote workforce of at least 50 employees.

• Must reside in California, Colorado, Arizona, or Oregon.

• Comfortable working fully remotely with occasional travel to offices in California.

• Proven track record of performing responsibilities in a high-trust role.

• Strong experience managing mission-critical Azure Virtual Desktops and application-specific servers.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, focusing on conditional access, provisioning, identity governance, and general administration.

• Experience managing distributed endpoints and mobile devices using Intune, NinjaOne, WorkspaceOne, or similar tools.

• Demonstrated history of utilizing PowerShell to manage Microsoft 365 and Azure.

• Possess a zero-trust security mindset.

• Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to simplify complex technical issues.

• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing indoor ladders, crawling under furniture, and reaching behind wall-mounted equipment.

• Bonus: experience supporting CAD/GIS applications, Egnyte, Deltek VantagePoint, Elevia, Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft certifications, CMMC/NIST/CCPA/SOC 2/ITSM/ITIL, platform migrations, IAM automations, data retention policies, or UniFi Network and Protect.
