Senior Systems Analyst – Ambulatory

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, train, deploy, and provide support for Epic applications.

• Collect and refine requirements from stakeholders, map workflows, and create Epic configurations.

• Prepare and maintain specifications, decision logs, design documentation, configuration documents, and process documentation.

• Perform gap analyses for system upgrades, regulatory modifications, and new initiatives.

• Oversee smaller system implementation and upgrade projects utilizing either waterfall or agile methodologies.

• Lead project teams and guide junior analysts in their development.

• Configure Epic records, master files, profiles, rules, security classes, and workflows.

• Develop and implement unit, integrated, and UAT test plans; address defects and document testing evidence.

• Validate interfaces, printing, reporting, downstream workflows, and regression coverage.

• Manage release processes, environment transitions, and downtime protocols.

• Provide support during go-live and post-live phases, including hypercare and advanced application assistance.

• Handle service requests and incidents while ensuring adherence to SLAs through triage and root-cause analysis.

• Integrate Epic and third-party applications in collaboration with IT and clinical teams.

• Work together on HL7, FHIR, PDF, CCD/CCDA, Clarity/Caboodle, registry, and operational reporting workflows.

• Assist in regulatory compliance, audits, privacy and security measures, and ITIL-aligned processes.

• Design, implement, govern, and enhance CareConnect training curricula and environments.

• Manage requests and incidents related to end-user training, document resolutions, and improve support processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in system analysis and support within a healthcare setting.

• Alternatively, 10+ years of experience in system analysis and support within a healthcare environment without a degree.

• Experience with Epic applications and healthcare workflows.

• Strong skills in requirements gathering, workflow design, and testing.

• Familiarity with ITIL, change control, SDLC practices, system governance, and both waterfall and agile project methodologies.

• Excellent communication skills with clinical, operational stakeholders, and managed service providers, along with the ability to produce clear documentation.

• Demonstrated history of managing complex projects and leading cross-functional teams.

• For Application Training roles: Epic Training Environment Build certification and 3+ years of relevant experience; 2 Epic Application Principal Trainer certifications.

• Preferred qualifications for Application Build roles include current Epic certification or proficiency; 3+ years of Epic build and configuration experience; leadership or supervisory experience; system integration, HL7, FHIR, and interface testing experience; exposure to SQL/Clarity, Caboodle, SlicerDicer, or reporting tools; and experience in patient access, billing, coding, finance, or clinical operations.

• ITIL Foundation certification is preferred but not mandatory.

• Certifications in one or more Epic applications, healthcare system or hospital experience, knowledge of healthcare regulations, familiarity with cloud platforms, experience in business intelligence and analytics, or an advanced degree are considered advantageous.
