Senior System Test Engineer – Simulation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of system-level simulation testing for autonomous driving software.

• Concentrate on virtual verification and validation of perception and the behavior of autonomous vehicles.

• Provide support to Torc’s development and integration teams.

• Identify, plan, and execute simulation test campaigns aimed at verifying and validating autonomous vehicles.

• Collaborate with Product, Systems, and Safety teams to formulate V&V simulation strategies.

• Maintain and enhance Torc's Scenario Library, which includes Abstract, Logical, and Concrete scenarios to ensure comprehensive ODD coverage.

• Detect testing gaps and establish requirements for new or improved testing tools, simulation environments, and test frameworks.

• Work alongside internal tools teams and external vendors to advance simulation and virtual testing toolchains.

• Analyze and triage simulation results effectively.

• Create dashboards and test reports to convey results to stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering field with 6+ years of experience, or a Master's Degree with 3+ years of experience.

• Proven experience in virtual testing and simulation of perception and autonomous vehicle behavior.

• Experience in developing scenarios that comply with the ASM OpenScenario standard, particularly Abstract and/or Logical Scenarios.

• Proficient in creating Test Cases and Test Procedures.

• Scripting skills in .yaml and using Python for data analysis.

• Background in software and system troubleshooting with a specific emphasis on system-level analysis, fault isolation, and identification.

• Competent in working within a Linux environment.

• Familiarity with basic probability and linear algebra concepts.

• Experience in effectively communicating progress and test results to stakeholders.

• Knowledgeable about the latest methods in autonomous vehicle validation.

• Bonus: Experience in automotive testing and validation or similar fields.

• Bonus: Background in developing and validating sensor models, traffic vehicle models, and vehicle dynamics models.

• Bonus: Familiarity with ROS (Robot Operating System).
