Senior Survey Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Project Manager to ascertain project requirements.

• Evaluate, process, and conduct QA/QC on field survey data.

• Execute drafting tasks, review deliverables, make revisions, and prepare final client outputs.

• Comprehend project scope and requirements while assessing field data for thoroughness.

• Update the Project Manager on project progress.

• Examine notes, sketches, and survey records to confirm the accuracy of data processing.

• Create field packages for field teams, which include point files, DXF files, KMZ files, and associated information.

• Process and carry out quality-control checks on field data adhering to Gulf standards.

• Draft, map, and create deed sketches, easement sketches, and other parcel documents.

• Prepare, review, and finalize exhibits and plats, including ALTA Surveys, Easement Plats, and Topographic Surveys.

• Support the Project Manager in delegating tasks to junior survey technicians.

• Assist in keeping junior survey technicians focused and guide them on Gulf standards.

• Fulfill responsibilities in alignment with Gulf Procedures and the Health, Safety, and Environment policy.

• Undertake additional tasks as assigned to enhance project value and exceed client expectations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in a survey office setting.

• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D for survey-specific applications.

• Familiarity with Trimble software, such as Trimble Business Center.

• Basic knowledge of Land/Civil Survey terminology, including map projections, datums, coordinate systems, bearings, and azimuths.

• Prior fieldwork experience is preferred but not mandatory.

• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and exceptional interpersonal communication skills.

• A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.

• College or technical training in Geomatics, land surveying, AutoCAD drafting, or other relevant technical skills is preferred.

• Physically capable of operating a vehicle and possessing reliable transportation.

• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

• Frequent standing and walking on job sites; ability to bend, crouch, or climb for extended periods.

• Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds when managing or operating survey equipment.

• Availability for travel as needed for site visits.
