
Senior Support Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Summarize discovery responses and medical records within 30 days of receiving them in the office.
• Conduct and defend depositions of parties, lay witnesses, and expert witnesses.
• Finalize deposition summaries within 15 days following the depositions.
• Perform legal research and draft motions, oppositions, and replies.
• Appear in court for legal motions and related matters.
• Prepare trial documents, including motions in limine and oppositions.
• Ensure adherence to CCP §2025.340(m) for video depositions.
• Attend trials and provide support to the trial attorney, including trial research, motions for directed verdict, nonsuit, and witness examinations.
• Complete various assignments as directed by Attorney IV.
• Independently manage a high volume of cases with minimal supervision.
• Maintain regular full-time attendance of at least 7.5 hours daily and 37.5 hours weekly.
• Travel by automobile for up to 20% of work time.
• A law degree is mandatory.
• Admission to the bar in the applicable state(s) is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a licensed attorney is required.
• At least 3 years of experience in insurance defense or equivalent relevant experience is required.
• Extensive knowledge of insurance law, tort law, evidence codes, civil procedure, and trial procedure is essential.
• Excellent communication, persuasion, writing, and analytical abilities are necessary.
• Proficiency in effectively conducting and defending depositions for parties, witnesses, and experts is required.
• Strong research skills and expertise in law and motion are required.
• Must comply with company standards regarding personal driving history and current license status.
• Significant automobile travel, up to 20% of work time, is expected.
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance is essential.
• Strong organizational skills to manage a high volume of cases are needed.
• Experience in insurance defense BI trials is preferred.
• Extensive experience in expert witness discovery and trial practice is a plus.
• Preferably, 10+ years of experience as a licensed attorney.
• Preferred 5+ years of experience in insurance defense.
• A law degree from a state-accredited or ABA-accredited law school is preferred.
