This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Act on behalf of the Company in legal disputes concerning consumer accounts and other judicial matters involving the Company and its affiliates.
• Draft and submit legal documents, discovery materials, and pleadings.
• Offer support and guidance to the Company’s legal team in relation to litigation endeavors.
• Advocate for the Company in relevant state courts where authorized to practice, utilizing case management software.
• Represent the Company and its affiliates in judicial settings.
• Gather facts and evidence, conduct trials, and undertake various litigation-related responsibilities.
• Accurately and promptly manage cases by preparing legal documents, formulating strategies, and engaging with defendants, opposing counsel, and court officials.
• Represent the Company in scheduling conferences, mediations, settlement conferences, depositions, hearings, and trials.
• Ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Juris Doctor Degree is mandatory.
• Must be an active bar member in Texas.
• A minimum of 2 years of related experience and/or training or an equivalent background.
• Previous litigation experience in preparing and drafting pleadings, engaging in all phases of the discovery process, and managing trials is essential.
• Familiarity with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Truth-In-Lending Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, and other federal and state laws and regulations concerning consumer credit and collections.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and interpersonal skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Capability to analyze multiple issues and exercise sound business judgment.
• Proficiency in researching, reading, analyzing, and interpreting statutes, case law, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
• Competence in providing well-researched, accurate, and practical legal advice promptly.
• Ability to develop, enhance, and standardize procedures.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
