Senior Supply Chain Analyst – Operational Design & Strategy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Identify and document opportunities for enhancing productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness through data analysis, process evaluation, and technology integration.

• Assist in the design and rollout of new supply chain systems throughout a regional network of distribution centers.

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive transformative initiatives.

• Identify and suggest value-added new technologies, quantify their benefits, and propose adoption strategies.

• Propel operational and continuous improvements while optimizing both current and future processes at distribution centers.

• Generate actionable insights to enhance data quality, improve processes, ensure compliance, and facilitate technology usage and adoption.

• Collect and synthesize operational and supply chain data for thorough analysis.

• Identify data and process discrepancies, determine root causes, and recommend corrective action plans.

• Support the utilization and adoption of technology through data analysis, process observation, and feedback from users.

• Work collaboratively across functions and with third-party consultants on technology transformation projects.

• Provide training and problem-solving assistance to both internal and external customers.

• Develop decision-support tools and financial models for evaluating cost-benefit trade-offs of technology solutions.

• Partner with distribution center staff, management, senior leaders, and consultants.

• Document business requirements, functional specifications, system designs, processes, and procedures.

• Conduct data management tasks, including data mining, modeling, analysis, and problem-solving.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues while making decisions in uncertain situations.

• May oversee the completion of projects and assignments, which includes planning, assigning tasks, monitoring progress, reviewing accuracy, and evaluating outcomes.

• Contribute to the professional growth of employees without having hiring or firing authority.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must reside in California, Texas, New Jersey, Florida, Illinois, Washington, or Pennsylvania.

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field preferred, with 3-5 years of relevant experience in supply chain, warehouse operations, operational design, or a related discipline.

• Proven experience in supporting distribution center operational design, warehouse layouts, and supply chain optimization initiatives.

• Familiarity with warehouse operations, material handling systems, automation, storage solutions, racking, conveyors, inventory systems, and facility design.

• Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS); SAP experience is preferred.

• Intermediate proficiency in 2D AutoCAD.

• Experience in creating or maintaining warehouse location data and layouts.

• Experience in managing vendor relationships, permitting, scheduling, cost negotiations, and project coordination.

• Understanding of hazmat storage, high-pile storage, racking calculations, and construction permitting requirements.

• Strong communication, collaboration, documentation, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Ability to work independently and support cross-functional project execution, including onsite implementation.

• Typically requires a BS/BA in a related field and generally 5-8 years of experience in a similar area, OR an MS/MA with generally 3-5 years of experience in a related field.

• Certification is required in some domains.

• The position necessitates 75% travel.

• Generally requires overnight travel 20% to 50% of the time.
