This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Provide strategic direction to guarantee consistent access to safe abortion supplies, contraceptives, and gender-based violence management resources.
• Act as a subject matter expert on technical issues related to the global health supply chain.
• Oversee Ipas’s supply chain management strategy across its network.
• Deliver technical leadership and assistance at global, regional, and country levels.
• Aid countries in evaluating reproductive health commodity system deficiencies and executing corrective measures.
• Enhance forecasting, quantification, procurement, warehousing, distribution, transportation, quality assurance, and logistics management information systems.
• Create and refine supply chain strategies, tools, and frameworks in collaboration with country programs, governments, and partners.
• Develop national capacity through training, mentoring, curriculum design, and knowledge sharing.
• Strengthen collaborations with national, regional, and international experts and organizations.
• Advocate for evidence-based methodologies, innovation, lessons learned, data transparency, and ongoing enhancement.
• Establish quality assurance, sustainability evaluations, monitoring, evaluation frameworks, and KPIs.
• Address disruptions through risk management, contingency planning, supplier diversification, and adherence to regulations.
• Encourage innovation in procurement, market shaping, inventory management, distribution, and technology-driven stock management.
• Support advocacy efforts to include abortion supplies in essential medicine lists and facilitate registration and marketing authorization.
• Utilize private-sector supply chain capabilities for innovative packaging, distribution, and documentation of user experience.
• Lead monitoring and evidence synthesis on the safety and quality of abortion commodities for pharmacovigilance initiatives.
• Contribute to project design, proposal development, opportunity exploration, donor and partner communications, and financial assessments.
• Assist procurement and contracting teams with product quality assurance evaluations and vendor certification processes.
• Represent and advocate for abortion supply planning priorities with coalitions, working groups, NGOs, multilateral partners, UN agencies, the World Bank Group, WHO, and donors.
• Contribute to generating evidence and sharing knowledge through networks, technical forums, and international conferences.
• This position is available exclusively to candidates residing in Africa.
• Strong dedication to sexual and reproductive health and rights, particularly in access to abortion and contraception.
• Extensive experience in assessing supply chain systems, forecasting and quantification, procurement, inventory management, distribution systems, and management information systems.
• Background in collaborating with private sector partners, including pharmacies, community distribution systems, and digital health platforms.
• Professional-level proficiency in English.
• Proven capability to lead and inspire teams while fostering a positive work atmosphere.
• Robust skills in work planning, budgeting, financial monitoring, and data-driven problem-solving.
• Established ability to cultivate positive working relationships with diverse internal teams and external partners.
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and sound judgment skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Comprehensive knowledge of and experience working with national and/or regional health system entities.
• Advanced degree (master’s or equivalent) in public health, supply chain management, logistics, health system strengthening, pharmacy, or a related medical field.
• At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in global health supply chain management focusing on reproductive health commodity supply chains.
• Strong quantitative analysis and forecasting abilities.
• Experience in low-resource or humanitarian settings.
• Proven experience in providing technical assistance to global health programs.
• Demonstrated expertise in managing global health commodity supply chains.
• Knowledge of technical matters related to global health commodity procurement.
• Proven ability in strategic planning, program management, and implementation in low- and middle-income countries.
• Experience working on sustainable commodity access initiatives.
• Experience in facilitating training and providing technical support to country teams, including remote assistance.
• Flexibility to meet virtually across different time zones.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 25% of the time, including in crisis situations.
