Senior Structural Engineer – Nuclear

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with structural engineers and engage with engineers from various disciplines.

• Mentor and guide less experienced project team members.

• Work on engineering projects involving new nuclear facilities, as well as upgrades and modifications to existing nuclear power plants.

• Leverage knowledge of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design.

• Prepare and evaluate design calculations.

• Create and refine specifications.

• Assist designers in the development of drawings.

• Provide guidance to others in producing engineering deliverables.

• Conduct structural analysis and design for steel frames, connections, concrete members, and foundations using computer-based tools.

• May require travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant sites for construction coordination and field verification of designs.

• Lead or supervise automation and process improvement tasks, including engineering calculations, technical document summaries, design documentation, and review of AI-generated outputs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.

• Minimum of seven years of experience as part of a project team in designing and analyzing structures.

• Proficient in structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS.

• Familiarity with design codes and standards including ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Must possess authorization to work in the U.S.; the employer does not provide work authorization sponsorship.

• Willingness or capability to lead others using contemporary tools like automation and AI.

• An MSCE degree, experience with power plant and/or industrial structures, on-site construction support experience, a PE or SE license, and additional learning in computer science/AI/software engineering are preferred but not essential.
