Senior Statistician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Oversee statistical contributions and offer expert insights to various projects.

• Create comprehensive statistical analysis plans.

• Execute and document statistical analyses as independent research or for health economic models.

• Provide analytical support for clients, regulatory/reimbursement agencies, and publications.

• Conduct survival analyses, including parametric survival analyses and adjustments for treatment-switching/cross-over.

• Perform indirect treatment comparisons, network meta-analyses, population-adjusted indirect comparisons, and time-varying indirect treatment comparisons.

• Analyze data from clinical trials, observational studies, and real-world evidence.

• Supply statistical input for reimbursement submissions to health technology agencies.

• Collaborate with the Statistics team, broader Research team, and HEOR Consulting team.

• Engage professionally with clients and external stakeholders.

• Provide strategic guidance and oversight for statistical content in projects.

• Work in partnership with both internal and external subject-matter experts.

• Conduct programming, writing, quality control, mentoring, training, and line management activities.

• Contribute to opportunities in research and development.

⛳️ Requirements

• A postgraduate degree (MSc, PhD) in a statistical or mathematical discipline.

• Several years of professional experience in planning, executing, and reporting statistical analyses within a HEOR consultancy, HTA agency, biostatistics, or contract research organization (CRO) setting.

• Familiarity with Bayesian methods and techniques such as MCMC or HMC using JAGS, OpenBUGS, or Stan, with the ability to modify existing models.

• Experience in health research involving one or more of the following: hierarchical models; population-adjustment techniques; time-varying network meta-analysis; long-term survival extrapolation; treatment-switching adjustments; joint synthesis of related endpoints; and surrogate endpoint relationships.

• Ability to convert complex statistical methods into actionable solutions.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills tailored for both technical and non-technical clients.

• Strong numerical and critical thinking skills.

• Proficient programming abilities.

• Experience with intermediate to advanced R programming, including package development, version control, and Shiny.

• Capacity to uphold, enhance, and expand the scientific reputation of the organization and to contribute to the development of new methods and processes.

• Experience in mentoring and/or managing staff.

• Competence in managing projects within established timelines, budgets, and scopes.
