This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the comprehensive multi-year technical strategy for Identity and Access Management (IAM) from start to finish.
• Develop an integrated architecture that combines workforce, AI agent, and service/workload identity with shared components for authentication, authorization, provisioning, and governance.
• Lead architectural decisions across various pods and teams without having direct management authority.
• Set standards, establish review bars, and create integration contracts for engineering teams.
• Formulate an adoption strategy for over 700 systems, including sequencing, migration paths, and make-or-buy decisions.
• Collaborate with Security, Compliance, IT, Infrastructure, and product engineering leadership to convert UAR, SOX, and SOC 2 requirements into automated controls and self-generating evidence.
• Oversee the data model and tools to clarify who has access to what resources and the rationale behind it.
• Minimize standing privileges while ensuring the secure path remains efficient.
• Provide mentorship to staff and senior engineers, enhancing organizational expertise in identity management.
• A minimum of 12 years of experience in software engineering.
• Proven history as the leading technical authority on a platform that spans multiple teams, with a multi-year architecture that has been successfully adopted by numerous consuming teams.
• Extensive IAM knowledge across multiple domains, including significant experience with service or workload identity.
• Familiarity with service-to-service authentication, workload identity federation, or machine credential management at scale.
• Experience in production-level Go programming.
• Expertise in designing distributed systems on AWS.
• Proficiency in OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, and workload identity patterns.
• Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority at senior levels.
• Capability to translate audit and regulatory requirements into automated technical controls.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills suitable for executive audiences.
