This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Lead and implement the US Medical Affairs strategy.
• Promote objective, evidence-based, non-promotional scientific discussions about Illumina technologies, products, and scientific information.
• Establish and nurture relationships with KOLs, HCPs, HCOs, professional societies, researchers, academic institutions, laboratories, and customers.
• Collect insights from external stakeholders to guide the Medical Affairs strategy.
• Deliver scientific education and presentations on oncology genomics, precision medicine, laboratory applications, and scientific evidence.
• Acquire knowledge of studies, compounds, and diseases to facilitate scientific dialogue with oncology and pathology thought leaders.
• Evaluate protocol grant submissions for the Investigator-Initiated Trial program and assist in project management.
• Address unsolicited inquiries for scientific information regarding Illumina products.
• Contribute to oncology and pathology educational initiatives, research-focused congress activities, and non-promotional scientific forums.
• Aid in evidence generation activities and the development of approved or investigational clinical products.
• Observe market dynamics, trends, product knowledge, key publications, and national practice guidelines.
• Gather and analyze stakeholder feedback on patient and caregiver needs.
• Review scientific, educational, Medical Affairs, promotional, and training materials.
• Lead the publication strategy and review abstracts, posters, presentations, and scientific articles.
• Communicate clinical workflows in oncology settings, molecular pathology laboratories, and medical oncology.
• Uphold Medical Affairs independence and adhere to relevant regulations, industry standards, company policies, and ethical guidelines.
• An advanced degree is required (e.g., PharmD, MD/DO, PhD, RN, or PA) in a pertinent scientific field.
• A doctorate is strongly preferred in a health science or clinical discipline.
• Familiarity with genomics, personalized medicine, in vitro diagnostics, clinical laboratory workflows, and oncology.
• A research and publication history is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of clinical, scientific/research, or industry-related experience, or an equivalent background.
• At least 2 years of MSL experience or a similar role in oncology/pathology.
• Capability to interpret scientific data and communicate it effectively to diverse audiences.
• In-depth knowledge of FDA, OIG, HIPAA, and other pertinent ethical guidelines, laws, and regulations.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
