Senior Staff Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Manage litigation that is moderately complex and carries a moderate to high level of exposure.

• Evaluate substantive, procedural, legal, and factual matters.

• Perform comprehensive legal research and formulate as well as present defense strategies.

• Draft pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motions, and briefs.

• Convey legal information, advice, and services to clients and claims partners.

• Interact with courts, clients, claims partners, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel.

• Efficiently and effectively resolve assigned cases in a timely manner.

• Prepare and present witnesses and evidence in trials, hearings, and alternative dispute resolutions.

• Offer opinions to attorneys, staff, clients, and claims customers.

• Participate in continuing legal education seminars.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and licensed to practice in New York State is essential.

• Must be a member in good standing of the NYS Bar Association.

• A minimum of 7 years of legal experience in insurance defense is required.

• Familiarity with local courts is necessary.

• Strong skills in legal research and writing are essential.

• Excellent organizational abilities and the capability to prioritize tasks and time effectively.

• Proficient communication, computer, and technological skills are required.

• Ability to quickly adapt to new A.I. tools is advantageous.

• Proven expertise and familiarity in handling claim cases and litigation are necessary.

• Admission to practice in federal courts is a plus.
