Senior SRE/DevOps Engineer, Networking-Heavy Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Take ownership and enhance Webshare's production infrastructure.

• Lead the transition from Docker Swarm to Kubernetes in an on-premises setup.

• Ensure high availability across hundreds of servers and around 50 services.

• Foster observability in collaboration with the development team.

• Establish and uphold Infrastructure as Code practices and ensure CI/CD pipeline reliability.

• Engage in the on-call rotation alongside backend engineers.

• Address and lead the resolution of infrastructure incidents.

• Conduct post-mortems and implement systematic remediation strategies.

• Contribute to platform tools that enhance developer experience and minimize infrastructure toil.

• Collaborate with a skilled team of backend engineers to manage infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in building and operating highly available infrastructure at scale, including hundreds of servers, numerous services, and real production loads.

• Practical experience with Kubernetes in self-hosted or bare-metal environments.

• Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code.

• Ability to proactively identify problems and communicate effectively with the team.

• Skills in scripting and development.

• Familiarity with Python and/or Go is a plus.

• Exposure to proxy and networking-heavy infrastructure is advantageous.

• Previous experience in a small team where developers shared infrastructure responsibilities is beneficial.

• Understanding of edge clusters or split compute/edge architectures is a plus.

• Experience leading at least one significant infrastructure migration is desirable.
