Senior DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Create and execute robust, scalable, and observable processes and infrastructure utilized across client software implementations.

• Safeguard networks, applications, and data.

• Offer production monitoring and support for client systems.

• Develop, deploy, and sustain Elastic-based logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions.

• Build and implement automation tools for testing, monitoring, and reporting.

• Design and establish integrations within CI/CD pipelines.

• Incorporate security controls into Engineering and DevOps pipelines, including build automation and configuration management.

• Engage in code and design evaluations.

• Comprehend and promote the OWASP Top 10, industry best practices, and secure coding principles.

• Collaborate with clients on infrastructure and scaling needs.

• Analyze and evaluate client deployments for potential security, scalability, and reliability concerns.

• Regularly conduct, review, and address findings from penetration and vulnerability assessments.

• Assess the security stance of new product integrations.

• Assist with the company's compliance goals.

• Communicate with stakeholders across Engineering, QA, DevOps, Operations, and Product Management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Security, Information Systems, or a related field.

• Over 3 years of relevant experience in DevOps, infrastructure, and security.

• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Azure, covering networking (VNets, subnets, NSGs, Private Link), security (Entra ID, Key Vault, Defender for Cloud), Kubernetes (AKS), managed databases, and monitoring/observability (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics).

• Practical experience with at least one additional cloud platform (AWS or GCP) is highly preferred.

• Proficient in Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, and similar technologies.

• Familiarity with the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash/Beats/Elastic Agent), including cluster deployment, scaling, tuning, and utilizing Elastic for logging, monitoring, and observability.

• Experience with REST-style web services and APIs.

• Knowledge of API security and best practices.

• Background in mobile device and application security.

• Experience in designing networks and subnets (VNets/VPCs) for security, monitoring, and prevention.

• Proficient with CI/CD automation tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline.

• Relevant certifications such as Azure DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400), Azure Administrator (AZ-104), AWS, Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD), Terraform, or Elastic are preferred.

• Understanding of compliance programs like SOC 2 and PCI DSS is advantageous.

• Experience with PostgreSQL performance tuning is a plus.

• Experience tuning Kubernetes pod resource requests and limits based on observed metrics is also a plus.

• Required skills: DevOps, Azure Kubernetes Service, Terraform, Helm, AWS Elastic Beanstalk, and CI/CD.
