Senior Solutions Architect, AWS – Migration, Modern Platforms

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create client-facing materials, such as solution summaries, proposals, staffing models, Statements of Work, and responses to RFPs/RFIs.

• Oversee the planning of workshops and evaluate, mobilize, and carry out the migration of on-premises applications and legacy data centers to AWS.

• Develop cloud security, identity, and access management strategies that comply with regulatory and compliance standards.

• Champion Infrastructure as Code using AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.

• Construct automated CI/CD pipelines.

• Serve as a subject matter expert and manage the sales process from gathering requirements to the handoff for delivery.

• Manage the proposal approval process and facilitate cross-functional reviews and stakeholder sign-off.

• Create and implement standardized methodologies for solution design, deployment, and optimization.

• Integrate industry-specific frameworks and best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.

• At least 5 years of experience in solutions architecture, technical pre-sales, delivery, or other customer-facing technical roles.

• Over 3 years of experience in delivering and pre-selling consulting and advisory services for strategic solutions such as IT strategy, Application Placement, and Cloud Governance.

• Extensive AWS expertise in core services including EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, Lambda, EKS, and ECS.

• Strong knowledge of container orchestration, Infrastructure as Code, and AWS Well-Architected principles.

• Exceptional communication skills and executive presence when engaging with technical architects and C-suite stakeholders.

• Strong background in cloud migration and modernization, encompassing lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and re-architecting solutions.

• Comprehensive understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, microservices, serverless, and event-driven AWS architectures.

• Experience with solution design methodologies and technical best practices.

• Expert-level proficiency in AWS core services: EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, Lambda, EKS, ECS, IAM, CloudWatch, Route 53, and AWS Organizations.

• Proficient in applying the AWS Well-Architected Framework across all five pillars.

• Hands-on experience in designing multi-account, multi-region AWS architectures suitable for enterprise environments.

• Proven experience in architecting cloud migration strategies.

• Familiarity with AWS or third-party migration tools.

• Experience with the AWS Pricing Calculator and building cost models.

• Active AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional certification is highly preferred.
