This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +2 more states.
β’ Are you a versatile architect seeking your next opportunity?
β’ Intelligent, pragmatic, and someone who truly delivers results?
β’ Do you enjoy navigating various domains, being the primary contact for both business and technology, and mentoring others in the process?
β’ Our mission is straightforward: assist our clients in maximizing the value of their technological investments.
β’ We evaluate enterprise architectures, design intricate integrations, and offer architectural leadership for significant, complex initiatives such as mergers, modernizations, and cloud migrations.
β’ We do not engage in software development or manage infrastructure.
β’ We are the trusted authorities our clients rely upon for the two critical questions:
β’ What actions should they take (enterprise architecture and planning), and how should they execute them (solution architecture)?
β’ Frequently, you will be leading solution design for substantial, intricate projects: crafting end-to-end solutions and navigating integration patterns, data flows, modern data patterns, APIs, security, and the non-functional aspects that can make or break a design.
β’ This role encompasses both a hands-on position and a strategic oversight role.
β’ You will be part of an enterprise solution architecture group, providing guidance to a decentralized team of solution architects and reviewing their designs and documentation for compliance with processes and strategies, ensuring alignment without becoming a bottleneck.
β’ However, your primary focus will be in tackling the most challenging solution designs personally and stepping in when a domain requires additional support, a decision is stalled, or a design needs a second opinion from an expert.
β’ You are an experienced solution architect who has operated within large, complex organizations and possesses the technical expertise to design authentic solutions, rather than merely dictating principles.
β’ You have experience in personally designing end-to-end solutions, including integration patterns, data flows, APIs, security, and the non-functional elements that can significantly impact a design.
β’ You establish and carry enterprise standards and strategies into the projects you engage in, ensuring designs remain aligned with them, without needing to control or enforce the governance framework.
β’ You can quickly familiarize yourself with new business capabilities and processes, swiftly bridging knowledge gaps to collaborate with business users and design solutions that align with their operational methods.
β’ You possess a broad understanding of application, data, and integration architecture, with substantial depth in data and modern data patterns, and are comfortable working within both cloud and on-premise environments, with the discernment to assess vendors and platforms based on their merits.
β’ You can translate fluently between executive/business perspectives and engineering realities, supporting your recommendations with facts and trade-offs in discussions with either audience.
β’ Experience in financial services or other regulated industries is a significant advantage.
β’ Bonus points (particularly relevant to our current needs, but not mandatory):
β’ Experience in the insurance sector and the complex financial processes/data related to actuarial modeling and management/external financial reporting.
β’ Developing a cloud-based enterprise analytical data repository or a single source of truth for finance: layered/medallion architecture, data lineage, and reconciliation across upstream sources.
β’ Familiarity with modern cloud data platforms, particularly AWS.
β’ Effective execution of data governance: source-to-target mapping, master/reference data, lineage, and data quality controls in a regulated setting.
β’ A talent for collaborating with finance and actuarial professionals to create self-service capabilities that they will genuinely utilize instead of relying on Excel.
β’ Any experience with AI is beneficial, particularly practical applications rather than broad claims about AI.
β’ Please note: At this time, we do not sponsor immigration applications (H-1B, etc.) and are only considering direct candidates (no agencies). A background check is required.
β’ Generous paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays
β’ Company-funded health reimbursement (QSEHRA) for your insurance premiums and medical expenses
β’ 401(k) plan with company contributions
β’ Fully remote work with a consistent flow of diverse, high-impact projects and intelligent colleagues to collaborate with
