Senior Solution Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Oversee the architecture, design, and execution of IBM Maximo Asset Management (7.6.x) and Maximo Application Suite (MAS) solutions across various environments and business units.

• Create enterprise-wide solution architectures that align business needs with technological capabilities and industry best practices.

• Establish technical standards, design principles, governance frameworks, and implementation methodologies for Maximo-related projects.

• Act as the main technical consultant for strategic Maximo modernization, migration, and transformation initiatives.

• Assess and recommend emerging technologies, architectural patterns, and platform improvements.

• Design and maintain comprehensive data models that support asset management, maintenance, inventory, procurement, and operational workflows.

• Set data governance standards, master data management practices, and data quality frameworks.

• Manage complex data migration, conversion, cleansing, and validation projects.

• Formulate strategies for data lifecycle management, retention, auditing, and regulatory compliance.

• Architect highly available, scalable, and secure Maximo environments.

• Drive integration strategies and implementation between Maximo, financial systems, and other enterprise applications.

• Create and sustain technical roadmaps for growth, scalability, modernization, and digital transformation.

• Ensure adherence to cybersecurity policies, regulatory standards, and industry guidelines.

• Provide mentorship and technical direction to administrators, developers, configurators, analysts, and support staff.

• Facilitate architecture reviews, technical design workshops, and solution governance activities.

• Develop and maintain enterprise architecture documentation, system diagrams, standards, and technical roadmaps.

• Assist in project planning, resource estimation, and technical decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• US Citizenship with the capability to obtain a Public Trust.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• 10+ years of experience supporting IBM Maximo Asset Management and/or Maximo Application Suite implementations.

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise solution architecture, data architecture, or systems engineering positions.

• Extensive experience in designing and implementing enterprise-scale EAM solutions.

• Proven expertise in Maximo architecture, configuration, integrations, security, performance optimization, and system administration.

• Strong understanding of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), CMMS, maintenance, inventory, procurement, and asset lifecycle management processes.

• Experience leading large-scale system implementations, upgrades, migrations, and modernization efforts.

• Advanced knowledge of SQL, relational databases, data modeling, and enterprise data management practices.

• Outstanding analytical, leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Previous experience on federal contracts (preferred).

• IBM Certified Deployment Professional – Maximo Application Suite (preferred).

• IBM Certified Administrator – Maximo Manage (preferred).

• Expertise in Red Hat OpenShift and cloud-native architectures (preferred).

• Familiarity with IBM WebSphere, Linux, and enterprise middleware platforms (preferred).

• Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks (preferred).

• Experience with Atlassian Jira and Confluence, or similar tools (preferred).
