Senior Software Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Oversee, mentor, and guide a sizable team of technical professionals tasked with engineering deliverables that align with business objectives.

• Direct the engineering execution associated with Vehicle Development Process deliverables.

• Offer technical leadership and strategic influence to the work team.

• Collaborate across departments with product managers, designers, and other teams to ensure technology development meets business goals and user requirements.

• Spearhead new methodologies, initiatives, and organization-wide best practices in talent management, quality, and development processes.

• Provide vision and direction for the maintenance, extension, and innovation of the application stack.

• Guide the software architecture, design, and development processes.

• Facilitate technical discussions and act as a subject matter expert.

• Foster innovation, continuous learning, and the adoption of practical new technologies.

• Develop new products and tools with autonomous teams while ensuring system quality, performance, and scalability.

• Conduct group meetings to communicate company policies, procedures, leadership, and safety messages.

• Create and communicate functional vision and strategies.

• Prepare and deliver engaging presentations.

• Review deliverables and offer constructive feedback.

• Conduct performance interventions and provide timely feedback to direct reports.

• Participate in compensation planning and manage compensation treatments.

• Identify and eliminate roadblocks, resolving potential issues efficiently.

• Supervise 3 People Leaders and 12 Individual Contributors.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Applied Science, or a related field.

• A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in a Software Engineer, Developer, or similar role.

• At least five years of experience in application and services development.

• Five years of experience contributing to the architecture, documentation, and design of both new and existing systems, including architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scalability.

• Five years of experience in creating intuitive, responsive UIs utilizing HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks.

• Five years of experience in designing scalable architectures that integrate frontend, backend, and graphics components.

• Five years of experience in creating and integrating RESTful APIs.

• Five years of experience deploying scalable visualization services using AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.

• Five years of experience with programming languages such as C++, Java, TypeScript, C#, and Python, demonstrating the ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.

• Willingness to travel domestically up to 10% of the time.
