This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan, +1 more state.
β’ Create and deploy high-performance, memory-efficient authentication components and enterprise integrations utilizing Modern C++ and native Win32 APIs.
β’ Direct the technical design and enhancement of bespoke Windows Credential Providers, ADFS MFA adapters, and WTS multi-session services.
β’ Reduce authentication latency and thwart credential bypass attacks.
β’ Build automated diagnostic tools and administrative utilities with PowerShell and WMI/CIM.
β’ Optimize enterprise-scale deployment and enhance sysadmin manageability.
β’ Collaborate with Product Management, Security Architecture, and Design teams to produce Architectural Decision Records.
β’ Implement thorough automated testing pipelines to ensure zero-regression releases.
β’ Guide fellow engineers through code reviews and provide technical mentorship.
β’ Bachelorβs degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
β’ Over 6 years of professional experience in systems software engineering using Modern C++ (C++14/17/20) or C.
β’ Proficient in developing native Windows desktop or server applications using Win32 APIs, multi-threading synchronization primitives, and IPC.
β’ Experienced in administering or integrating with on-premises Active Directory (AD DS), Kerberos authentication protocols, or Windows Server environments.
β’ Skilled in writing PowerShell scripts or using WMI/CIM for Windows system automation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
β’ Preferred: experience in developing custom Windows Credential Providers, LSA authentication packages, or ADFS MFA adapters.
β’ Preferred: experience in debugging user-mode crashes, race conditions, and deadlocks utilizing WinDbg, ETW tracing, or Visual Studio diagnostic tools.
β’ Preferred: experience in authoring enterprise MSI installer customizations, Group Policy Administrative Templates (.admx/.adml), or GPO deployment workflows.
β’ Preferred: knowledge of modern authentication protocols, FIDO2/WebAuthn, passwordless logon architectures, or Microsoft Entra ID hybrid join.
β’ Preferred: technical leadership experience in authoring ADRs, conducting structured code reviews, and mentoring junior engineers.
