This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Develop and implement scalable front-end functionalities utilizing Next.js, React, Vue.js, and TypeScript.
• Take ownership of the complete development process for web features, encompassing testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
• Create modular and reusable UI components.
• Enhance web performance through techniques such as SSR/SSG, lazy loading, and responsive design.
• Track and improve metrics like page load time, TTI, and Core Web Vitals.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Backend, and DevOps teams to establish requirements and deliver features effectively.
• Play a role in shaping front-end architecture decisions and promoting engineering best practices.
• Engage in code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and maintain dependable deployment processes in conjunction with DevOps.
• Ensure high standards of code quality, accessibility, security, and conduct automated unit, integration, and E2E testing.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline (preferred).
• Proficiency in both English and Mandarin.
• Approximately 8 years of professional experience in software development with a focus on front-end web applications, or about 6 years with an advanced degree.
• Expertise in Next.js, React, Vue.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Familiarity with tools such as Lighthouse, WebPageTest, and Chrome DevTools.
• Experience in designing and developing micro-frontend architectures.
• Practical experience in developing Mini Programs / Mini Apps, including platforms like WeChat Mini Program or similar.
• Understanding of SSR/SSG, CDN strategies, caching, and principles of responsive design.
• Knowledge of front-end security best practices.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD workflows, and modern deployment processes.
• Exposure to AWS or GCP.
• Experience in mentoring junior engineers and contributing to team development.
• Fluency in English and Mandarin for professional communication purposes.
